STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College Athletics Department is pleased to announce that the 2010 North Atlantic Conference Championship, featuring top-seeded St. Joe's and #2 Husson University, will be web streamed live on Saturday afternoon on www.gomonks.com.
The game, which begins at 1:00 PM, will be the first-ever Saint Joseph's Athletics home event to be web streamed live. The webcast will be free to all viewers.
Saint Joseph's will utilize Stretch Internet's GameCentral portal (click here to begin viewing experience), a Flash-based interface which provides high-quality live and on-demand streaming. Fans can easily register or sign in to access customized content. The stream will also be accessible on the iPhone platform (which includes the iPad and iPod Touch) with availability for other mobile devices on the way.
The field hockey championship game is a rematch of the 2009 NAC Semifinal, when the Eagles ended the Monks' season with a gut wrenching 2-1 penalty-stroke victory on their way to earning the program's first NAC Championship. St. Joe's, which has captured the #1 seed in the six-team tourney in each of the last two seasons, has now advanced to the NAC title bout twice in three years as a league member.
