STANDISH, ME – The 2011 field hockey season schedule has been announced. St. Joe's will play 17 contests including nine conference games this fall.
The Monks begin the season on the road with a game at Anna Maria College on September 5th and will face non-region opponent Kean University in the 2011 home-opener on Saturday, September 10th at 2:00 PM.
Home contests include games versus Kean, UNE, Southern Maine, New England College, Rivier, Maine-Farmington, Husson and Plymouth State.
Notable non-league opponents include Kean, UNE, USM, Endicott, Salem State, Colby and Plymouth State.
St. Joe's went 13-6 overall and posted a 7-0 record in North Atlantic Conference contests en route to earning the #1 seed in the NAC tourney in 2010. Head Coach Rupert Lewis, a two-time NAC Coach of the Year recipient, heads into his seventh season with a 63-46 (.578) career record.
The NAC Tournament starts on October 29th and the NCAA tourney begins on November 9th.
