Cowin Tabbed as NAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has released the weekly honors for the second reporting period of the 2011 fall season and Saint Joseph's sophomore forward TJ Cowin (Newry, Maine/Telstar) has garnered NAC Field Hockey Player of the Week honors.

Cowin, a sophomore transfer from Simmons College, almost singlehandedly led the Monks to wins over Anna Maria College and Kean University last week. The second-year sophomore accounted for all three of the SJC markers in a 3-1 triumph over Anna Maria on September 5th and netted the game-winner in an exciting 2-1 OT victory over Kean on September 10th.

The weekly conference honor is the second of her career as Cowin collected NAC Rookie of the Week honors while playing for Simmons on September 20th, 2010. She appeared in 17 games for the Sharks as a freshman and paced the team with 11 goals and 28 total points during her rookie campaign.

Saint Joseph's will host University of New England on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
