NAC Selects Cowin as Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME – TJ Cowin '14 (Newry, Maine/Telstar) has garnered North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week honors for the second time this fall.

Cowin scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over University of Maine-Farmington on Saturday – the Monks' only contest last week. The goal came with less than 15 minutes remaining in the contest and gave UMF its first conference loss of the season (3-1) while the Monks moved to 4-0 with the result.

The second-year sniper has tallied 10 goals with four game-winners in just six games played this fall. As of October 2nd, Cowin ranked third in the NAC in goals and fourth in all of NCAA DIII Field Hockey with 1.67 goals per game.

Cowin garnered NAC Player of the Week and ECAC New England Offensive Player of the Week honors on September 12th after scoring three goals in wins over Anna Maria College and Kean University.

Saint Joseph's (6-2, 4-0 NAC) will host Husson University (7-2, 3-1 NAC) in a key conference matchup on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
