Celata Claims Second NAC Weekly Rookie Honor

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's field hockey freshman Amanda Celata (Dedham, Mass.) has been selected as the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period.

Celata scored the game-winning goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation to help the Monks defeat Simmons College by a 1-0 score on Sunday afternoon. For Celata, the game-winner was her second in the last three games.

Through five games for the 4-1 Monks, Celata is tied for the team-lead with three goals and ranks second on the squad in points (6). She also paces the Royal Blue in game-winners (2) and first-goals (2) so far this fall.

Saint Joseph's will host University of Southern Maine in a non-conference matchup on Thursday at 3:30 PM.
