GNAC Hat Trick for Pomerleau

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Corvais Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

Pomerleau produced a historic week offensively with four goals and five assists for 13 total points in a pair of victories. The freshman forward scored three goals with two assists versus Salem State on Tuesday and tallied a goal and three assists against Rivier on Saturday.

Through 16 games this fall, Pomerleau leads the Monks in goals (13), assists (9), and points (35) and ranks as the conference leader in assists and game-winning goals (5). Her point total counts as the most ever scored by a first-year player at Saint Joseph's and is also the highest attained by an SJC player since Courtney Rague '11 tallied 40 points during the 2010 campaign

Saint Joseph's (11-5, 5-1 GNAC) wraps up the 2016 regular season on Wednesday with a 6:30 PM game at Plymouth State University. As the top seed in the GNAC Tournament, the Monks have earned a first-round bye and will face the winner of the #5 Mount Ida / #4 Lasell quarterfinal next Wednesday.
