STANDISH, Maine – The Longstreth/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior goalkeeper Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) has claimed honorable mention acclaim for her play in two contests last week.
Baker was outstanding in goal for the Monks in the two victories, as the senior keeper tallied 10 total saves while allowing two goals over 140 minutes over the weekend. Baker registered seven saves in a 3-2 triumph over Skidmore College on Friday, with one of goals being scored on a wild deflection during a corner after time expired, and steered away three shots in a 7-0 win over Wellesley College on Sunday.
Baker, who was also selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for her play last weekend, has appeared in 60 games in goal for the Monks during her career with a 0.98 GAA, a .774 save percentage, and 22 shutouts with a 40-17 record as a four-year starter.
Through two games this season, she is 2-0 with a 1.00 GAA and an .833 save percentage. She currently ranks as the Monks' career leader in shutouts and is second in wins and GAA and third in goalkeeper games, minutes, and saves (188).
Saint Joseph's will play at Anna Maria College on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
