STANDISH, Maine - The Longstreth/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman forward Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) has garnered honorable mention honors for her efforts in four SJC victories last week.
Rutledge, who was named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, scored four goals with five assists for 13 total points in a 4-0 week for the Monks, an impressive stretch that launched Rutledge atop the GNAC leaderboard for points and assists. On Monday the freshman forward totaled five points with two goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Gordon College. She scored a goal and added an assist in a 7-0 victory over Husson University on Wednesday, and produced her second five-point performance of the week with a goal and three helpers in a 9-0 triumph at Regis College on Saturday.
Rutledge currently leads the conference in assists (7) and points (17) and is tied for third in the GNAC in goals (5). She is the second Saint Joseph's player to claim Longstreth/NFHCA Division III honorable mention acclaim this season as senior goalie Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) received the same honor on September 4th.
Saint Joseph's (7-1, 2-0 GNAC) will host Simmons University at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
