Pomerleau Earns All-American Honors

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College senior midfielder Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) has garnered Synapse Sports Third Team All-America honors for the second-consecutive season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday evening.

Pomerleau claims First Team All-Region honors for the second time after netting seven goals with five assists for 19 total points during her senior season. The senior captain, who changed positions from forward to midfielder as a senior, is the Monks' all-time leader in goals (65), points (156) and game-winning goals (22).

Pomerleau is the first player in team history to claim All-America accolades in consecutive seasons and just the third SJC athlete to do so since Saint Joseph's became a full-time NCAA DIII member in the fall of 2002. She joins recent men's soccer standouts Dalton Gaumer '19 and Blake Mullen '19 on this exclusive list and is also one of only 11 Monks to have garnered multiple All-America honors in the 49-year history of Saint Joseph's College athletics.

One of the most decorated players in program history, Pomerleau has claimed 31 individual accolades during her field hockey career, including a pair of NFHCA All-New England honors, four First Team All-Conference awards, and two GNAC Offensive Player of the Year nods. The 2016 GNAC Rookie of the Year also earned seven weekly conference honors and was one of 60 players from around the country to be selected to participate in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game in Manheim, Pennsylvania on November 23rd.

Pomerleau is the only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) player to be honored by Synapse Sports and one of 16 players from the New England region to earn All-America accolades.
