Monks to Host "Shake Your Ziti-n-Rice Night"

STANDISH, ME - In an effort to support a worthy cause, as well as the SJC men's basketball team, Saint Joseph's College will host "Shake your Ziti-n-Rice Night" when the Monks host the Eagles of Husson University on Tuesday, December 1st at 7:30 PM.

Bon Apétit Dining Services and local grocery stores combined to donate shipments of boxed pasta and rice for the first 300 fans to use as noisemakers during the game. Following the conclusion of the in-state rivalry match-up, SJC staff members will collect the items from the fans at the door and the bounty will be donated to Catherine's Cupboard.

Catherine's Cupboard, located at the Standish Town Hall, operates each Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and is open to all Cumberland County residents for monthly food pick-up. Saint Joseph's College started the food pantry in April 2008 with help from the town of Standish and it has grown to serving 100 families per month.
