STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's sophomore guard Matthew Medeiros (Westport, Mass.) has been listed on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) weekly honor rolls.

Medeiros shot the lights out in a 2-0 week for the Monks, as the second-year guard shot 75% (9-12) from downtown and 60% (9-15) from the floor while making all 12 FT attempts in two GNAC wins. He came off the bench to net a career-high 20 points in a win over Lasell on Thursday and continued to be a force off the pine with 19 versus Suffolk on Saturday.

Through seven games Medeiros paces the Monks in three-point success (44.4%), ranks second on the team in trifectas made (16) and attempted (36) and third in scoring (10.7 PPG).

St. Joe's, 6-1 overall and 2-1 in GNAC play thus far, is ranked as the top team in the MMBCWA Weekly Poll for the third straight week. The Monks received all eight first-place votes and accumulated 40 total points, Bowdoin College is second with 29 points, and Southern Maine is ranked third with 25 points. Bates College (15) and University of Maine-Farmington (6) round out the top five in the poll, which is chosen on a weekly basis by the NCAA DIII and NAIA coaches across the State of Maine.

Saint Joseph's is off until December 31st when the Monks travel to Worcester Polytechnic Institute for 2:00 PM tip-off.
