O'Brien Collects MMBCWA Honor Roll Mention

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's senior guard Zach O'Brien (Schenectady, N.Y.) has been listed on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Weekly Honor Roll.

O'Brien averaged 15.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 2.3 APG in a 1-2 week for the Monks and netted 21 in a hardfought loss to Becker College on January 2nd.

The two-year captain currently leads the Royal Blue in scoring (17.4 PPG) and is tied for the team lead in rebounding (4.8 RPG). He is shooting 43.2% (76-176) from the field, 34.1% (14-41) from three-point distance, and 79.6% (43-54) from the free throw line.

The MMBCWA Weekly Poll lists Saint Joseph's in second place with 30 points. The Monks received two first-place votes and sit behind Bowdoin College (32 pts.) and ahead of Southern Maine (16), Maine-Farmington (12) and Bates College (8).

Saint Joseph's (9-3, 5-1 GNAC) will play at Mount Ida College in a conference contest on Monday evening at 6:00 PM.
