Clark's Court Opening Ceremony to be Held Thursday

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing to mark the official opening of Clark's Court to the College community on Thursday, September 5th at 12:00 PM.

Clark's Court, a beautiful lighted outdoor basketball court named in memory of Clark Noonan, has been constructed with the help of many generous donations during a successful fundraising campaign held over the last school year. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come out to the court and attend the ceremony.

Several special guest speakers, including President Jim Dlugos, will be on hand during the Opening and a host of special events will be held, including the ceremonial 'first basket shots' and, following the opening festivities, three students will have an opportunity to participate in a contest to make a half-court shot and win up to 100 flex dollars at Pearson's Café.

Multiple activities have been planned for Clark's Court, beginning with the site's first-ever 3-on-3 Tournament to be held on Saturday, September 7th at 6:30 PM. The tournament, which will be run by Student Activities, is open to all Saint Joseph's students, staff and faculty members. Those looking to sign up should visit the Student Activities Office; registration for the event closes on Friday, September 6th.
