Foley Earns All-Conference Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball postseason awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior guard Griffin Foley (Portland, Maine) has claimed Third Team All-Conference honors.

Foley claims the first All-GNAC honor of his career after averaging 17.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27 starts this season. The team captain shot 48.8% (185-379) from the floor, 35.3% (59-167) from three-point range, and 71.4% (50-70) from the FT line and paced the Monks in scoring in nine different games during his senior campaign.

One of the best finishers in the conference, Foley ended the season ranked third in the league in field goals made (185), fourth in points (479) and seventh in scoring average and three-pointers made (59).

In 65 career games, Foley has scored 852 points with 202 rebounds, 121 assists, 44 steals and 20 blocked shots while shooting 48.8% (323-662) from the field, 38.0% (112-295) from beyond the arc, and 74.0% (94-127) from the charity stripe. For his career, he averaged 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest.

Under the watch of first-year Head Coach Tyler Ackley, the Monks posted a 9-18 overall record with a 7-10 mark in GNAC play. St. Joe's earned the #9 seed in the conference tournament and defeated #8 Johnson & Wales, 89-81, in the first round of the playoffs but fell to eventual GNAC champion University of Saint Joseph in a quarterfinal contest the next day.
