STANDISH, MAINE - Endicott College saw its offense
come alive as it registered a 4-1 victory over host Saint Joseph's
College. The Gulls' record stands at 4-8 while St. Joe's drops to
3-5-1.
Endicott struck first in opening minutes as senior Kyle Austin
(Keene, NH) gathered a pass from junior Chris Croteau (Groveland,
MA) and beat SJC keeper senior Brian White
(Colebrook, NH). The Gulls went up 2-0 in the last three minutes of
the half as Austin assisted on a goal by junior Ruben Margolis
(Mexico City, Mexico).
Sophomore Shannon DeShield (Pembroke, Bermuda) put
St. Joe's on the board at 60:24, scoring a pass from freshman
Kevin Melega (Easthampton, MA) off a corner kick.
Endicott quickly answered back as sophomore Elias Carrero (Great
Barrington, MA) netted a pass by senior Josh Lewis (Groveland, MA)
to go up 3-1.
With a two-goal cushion in the 85th minute, the Gulls put the game
out of reach as Lewis scored on a penalty kick.
Junior Kevin Hageman (Albion, ME) was first off
the bench for the Monks and turned in his best performance of the
season. Keeper Brian White recorded 13 saves and
senior Dave Rosquete (Auburn, ME) had 3 saves in
less than six minutes in net for SJC.
Endicott sophomore Cameron Twiss (Reading, MA) had 4 saves and
freshman Scott Emmems (Weathersfield, CT) added a save for the
Gulls.
St. Joe's takes on Maine-Farmington at home on Friday, October 7th
at 3:30 PM.
