Liam Foley earns third GNAC Goalie of the Week honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College junior Liam Foley (Middleton, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season.

Foley played 180 minutes in goal for Saint Joseph's last week and did not allow a goal. He closed out the regular season by recording a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over Mitchell, making two saves in the process. Foley carried that play into the postseason, denying four Regis opportunities as he backstopped the Monks to a 3-0 victory in the GNAC Quarterfinals. One of his stops against the Pride came on a penalty kick.

Foley currently leads the conference in wins (12) and shutouts (10) and ranks second in the GNAC in goals against average (0.59) and save percentage (.836). The first-year starter is also third in fewest goals allowed (10) and games (17) and fourth in minutes (1523:18).

Saint Joseph's, the top seed in the 2023 GNAC Tournament, will host #5 Norwich University in a GNAC semifinal on Tuesday at 4:00 PM.
