Wood Earns All-Region Accolades

STANDISH, Maine – The United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior defender Will Wood (Franklin, N.H.) has earned All-Region I Second Team accolades.

Wood, a 2022 Third All-Region honoree, claims Second Team accolades after netting a goal with two assists for four total points as a senior defender. In two seasons at Saint Joseph's the 2023 team co-captain has played in 37 games with two goals and seven assists. The University of Albany transfer also garnered First Team All-Conference honors this fall.

Wood is one of three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's players to earn United Soccer Coaches postseason accolades. He is joined by Johnson & Wales University grad students Aidan Bagley and Jonathan Baker on the All-Region I Second Team.

The Monks posted a 12-4-3 overall record with an 11-2-1 mark in GNAC play under the watch of fifth-year Head Coach Will Pike '11 during the 2023 season. With 34 standing points, St. Joe's earned the #1 seed in the conference tourney for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and advanced to the GNAC semifinal round with a 3-0 triumph over #8 Regis College before falling in the second round to #5 Norwich University, 1-0, three days later.
