Henniker, NH - The Monks were defeated 4-1 by New
England College at Cox Memorial Field. St. Joe's stands at 7-8 and
NEC improves to 8-6-1 overall.
After forty-three scoreless minutes, freshman Chris Adams (West
Rutland, VT) put the Pilgrims up 1-0 going into the break.
NEC recorded three second-half goals, including a penalty kick to
put the match out of reach. Senior David Hakes
(Whitefield, NH) provided a bright spot for St. Joe's, scoring an
unassisted goal at 85:42 to make it 4-1.
Freshman Cory Smith (Ellsworth, ME) had 13 saves
in the loss for the SJC.
The Monks host Newbury College on Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00 PM.
