Quincy, MA - The Saint Joseph's College Men's Soccer defeated
Eastern Nazarene College on Monday afternoon in double OT by a
score of 2-1. The Monks clinched the victory when FY Matt
Zinchuk (Bethel, ME) blasted a header into the top corner
off a pass from teammate SO Eamonn Harrigan
(Caribou, ME) in the 102nd minute.
The SJC Men fell behind 1-0 in the 30th minute when Eastern
Nazarene College's Jesse Mix scored what turned out to be the
Crusader's only goal of the game. Monks SO Andre
Cushing (Hampden, ME) notched his fourth score of the
season in the 77th minute on a penalty kick. SO GK Cory
Smith (Ellsworth, ME) made four saves in the victory for
the Royal Blue.
Saint Joseph's College Men's Soccer (3-8-3, 1-5-1 GNAC) next hits
the pitch Wednesday, 10/17 at Emerson College. The GNAC match
begins at 5:45 PM in Boston, MA.
