Boston, MA - JR Lane Hubacz (Mapleville, RI)
scored both of the Monks goals in a 2-1 victory over GNAC opponent
Emerson College in Men's Soccer action on Wednesday. Solid play
from the St. Joe's defense and SO GK Cory Smith
(Ellsworth, ME), who registered nine saves, held the Lions to only
one goal as they outshot the Monks 27-9.
The Monks drew first blood in the 59th minute when Hubacz scored on
a scramble following a corner kick. The Lions answered 65 seconds
later when Chris Jones (New York, NY) knocked in a header past St.
Joe's GK Cory Smith. In the 71st minute,
Lane Hubacz scored his third goal of the season on
a header off a corner kick from teammate SO Andre
Cushing (Hampden, ME) for the game winner.
The Saint Joseph's College Monks (4-8-3, 2-5-1 GNAC) host GNAC
rival Norwich University Saturday, 10/20. Game time is 1:00 PM.
