FRAMINGHAM, MA - Framingham State (12-2-1, 4-0-1 MASCAC) defeated St. Joe's (8-5-3, 5-2-1 GNAC), 3-2, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon at Maple Street Field. Lane Hubacz '09 (Mapleville, RI) and Paul Robins '11 (Cornwall, England) netted the SJC goals in the losing effort.

Rams forward Alex Hill '10 (Abington, MA) headed in a long cross from John Strazzullo '09 (Webster, MA) in the 14th minute to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

St. Joe's answered by scoring the next two goals of the contest and carried a 2-1 lead going into the intermission. Hubacz headed in a free kick from Robins in the 25th minute to notch his second goal of the year and knot the game at one apiece. Robins followed with his fifth marker of the season, unassisted, 16 minutes later to give the Monks a 2-1 lead.

St. Joe's was unable to hold on to the lead, however, as the Rams scored two goals less than five minutes apart in the second half to pick up the win. Mike Jones '09 (Norwood, MA) collected a rebound in the box and beat Monks keeper Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME), who made nine saves in the loss, for his 4th goal of the year in the 56th minute. Barely five minutes later, Johnny Goncalves '09 (Framingham, MA) scored the game winner off a cross from Jason Silva '11 (Milford, MA) with 29 minutes to play.

For the visiting Monks, Robins posted five shots and Doug MacCallum '10 (Hingham, MA) registered four in the match.

Framingham outshot St. Joe's, 23-15, and also posted an 8-5 edge in corner kicks in the contest. Goalkeepers Gabriel Gonzalez '10 (Framingham, MA) and Greg Halle '11 (Beverly, MA) combined to make seven stops in net for the Rams, who extended their winning streak to four games with the triumph.

Both teams return to action on Saturday as the Rams travel to Bridgewater State at 10 a.m. and the Monks travel to Rivier at 1 p.m.
