BANGOR, ME - Husson University defeated St. Joe's (0-2) 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in a back-and-forth affair. Senior Kevin Melega (Easthampton, MA) and junior Doug MacCallum (Hingham, MA) scored the SJC goals and goalkeeper Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) made nine stops in the losing bid.

A fter a scoreless first half, St. Joe's struck first in the 50th minute when Melega notched his first goal of the season off a throw in with the assist going to MacCallum.

Husson's Mark Trombley '10 (Burnham, ME) countered the SJC goal four minutes later to knot the game at one apiece.

MacCallum put the Monks up, 2-1, 1:30 after the Husson marker with a beautiful header shot off a pass from Melega.

The Eagles rallied with two goals in the last 13:36 with goals from Tyler Metevier '12 (Kittery, ME) and Nathan Carter '10 (Presque Isle, ME) to seal the victory.

St. Joe's will travel to Worcester, MA to play the Worcester State College Lancers on Wednesday, September 10th at 7:00 PM.
