unbeaten streak to a program-record seven games on Sunday afternoon
with a 0-0 double overtime tie to non-conference opponent Maine
Maritime Academy (4-5-1). Goalkeeper Will
Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) tallied two saves on only
four shot attempts by the Mariners to lock up his fourth shutout of
the season. Paul Robins '11
(Cornwall, England) led the way for Saint Joseph's with 6 shot
attempts in the tie.
Saint Joseph's outshot Maritime 12-4 in the game but were unable to
solve Mariners goalkeeper Jeff Butland '11 (Cumberland, ME). The
Monks also held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-1.
St. Joe's will travel to New Haven, CT on Saturday October 11th for
a 3:00 PM contest against GNAC rival Albertus Magnus College
(6-4-1, 1-2-1 GNAC).
