Monks Snub Rams, 2-0

STANDISH, ME - Nicholas Campasano '12 (Goffstown, ME) scored his first collegiate goal, the eventual game-clincher, as St. Joe's (8-4-3, 5-2-1 GNAC) defeated Suffolk (4-8, 3-4 GNAC), 2-0, on Sunday at Westerlea Way Field. Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) made a pair of saves to record his fifth shutout.

Campasano's tally came with 5:28 remaining in the first half and proved to be enough to sink GNAC counterpart Suffolk University. Timothy Davison '12 (Danvers, MA) recorded his first career assist on the score.

The one-goal edge stood until the 67th minute when Lane Hubacz '09 (Mapleville, RI) tallied his first goal of the season off an SJC corner kick. Paul Robins '11 (Cornwall, England) received credit for the assist on the goal that capped the game scoring with the Monks in charge, 2-0.

Robins and Kevin Melega '09 (Easthampton, MA) both had three shots in the Royal Blue victory. St. Joe's held the advantage in both shots (17-10) and corner kicks (7-1) in the conference contest.

For Suffolk, Cristian Palacios '09 (Lexington, MA) recorded three shots and goalkeeper Alex Capousis '10 (Annapolis, MD) made seven stops in net.
