Mullen Earns Second-Consecutive GNAC Honor

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College sophomore Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvais Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period.

Mullen notched his seventh and eighth shutouts of the season with eight total stops in a 1-0-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The second-year netminder made three saves in a double-overtime stalemate with Keene State College on Tuesday and tallied five saves in a 2-0 triumph over Albertus Magnus College on Saturday.

In 14 starts this fall, Mullen is 11-1-2 with nine shutouts and a 0.35 goals against average. In nearly 1282 minutes, the sophomore keeper has allowed just five goals and made 35 stops for an .875 save percentage.

Mullen currently leads the GNAC in goalkeeper games, minutes, goals against average, save percentage, victories, and shutouts and ranks second nationally in minutes, sixth in goals against average, and 12th in save percentage.

Saint Joseph's (11-1-3, 6-0-0 GNAC) plays at Norwich University this Saturday in a conference contest slated to start at 1:00 PM.
