Men's Soccer Ranked Seventh in Regional Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Saint Joseph's College men's soccer team (7-1-2) is ranked seventh in Region I in the fourth United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll of the 2021 season, as announced by the national organization earlier this week.

The Monks won both of their games last week, as the Royal Blue topped Regis College by a 4-1 margin and edged Johnson & Wales University, 1-0, in a rematch of the 2019 GNAC Championship contest on Saturday.

Since suffering their only loss of the season to Amherst College – ranked second in the region and 13th nationally in the latest polls – on September 23rd, the Monks have rattled off four-consecutive conference victories by a composite 10-2 score.

Saint Joseph's is one of two GNAC teams listed in this week's poll, as Norwich University (6-2-0) is ranked fifth.

Tufts University (8-0-1) is ranked first and is followed by Amherst (7-1-0), Connecticut College (6-2-0), Middlebury College (6-2-0), UMass.-Boston (7-2-0), Saint Joseph's, and Rhode Island College (7-2-0).

This year the New England Region has been split into two Regions, with half of the New England teams playing in Region II.
