Men Finish Sixth at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, ME – Saint Joseph's placed sixth with 13 team points in the Bowdoin College Five-Way Indoor Track & Field Meet on Saturday afternoon.

Highlighting the event for the Monks was senior Jack LaFreniere (Alton, N.H.), who won the 200 meter dash (23.39) by four one-hundredths of a second and placed sixth in both the 60 meter dash (7.35) and 400 meter dash (53.21) competitions.

Freshman Sam Dunay (Groton, Conn.) placed sixth in the long jump (5.66m) and classmate Taidghe Hagan (Reading, Mass.) finished ninth in the 1000 meter run (3:06.24) for the Royal Blue.

WPI and Bowdoin sat atop the final standings with 171 points apiece while Southern Maine finished third with 84 points on the afternoon. Colby College (74) and Connecticut College (43) also competed in the invitational.

Saint Joseph's returns to action next Saturday when the team participates in the Bates College Invitational in Lewiston, Maine at 12:00 PM.
