Outdoor Track & Field Teams Compete in Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field teams competed in the Tufts University Snowflake Classic on Saturday. The SJC women placed 14th with two points while the men did not score in the event.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Freshman Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) placed 17th in the hammer throw with a new program-record 24.35m distance and was 21st in the javelin throw (26.92m)
  • Freshman Harrison DeCotis (North Scituate, R.I.) placed 18th in the hammer throw (20.53m - topping his former team record (18.94m)) and 22nd in the discus throw (21.40m)
  • First-year Kevin Cotter (Sandwich, Mass.) was 19th in the hammer throw (18.70m), 21st in the discus throw (23.03m) and 23rd in the shot put (8.17m)
  • Freshman Malcolm Gocha (Plymouth, N.H.) was 20th in the 200-Meter (24.65) and posted an 11.75 time and barely missed the cut in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Freshman David Free (Quincy, Mass.) placed 20th in the shot put (8.41m)
  • Junior Nick Shuckrow (Winslow, Maine) placed 24th in the 400-Meter (58.59) and 55th in the 800-Meter (2:18.57)
  • Senior Taidghe Hagan (Reading, Mass.) was 25th in the 400-Meter (1:00.57) and 50th in the 800-Meter (2:16.91)
  • Freshman Avery Liotta-Henderson (Waterbury, Conn.) finished 26th in the 400-Meter (1:02.64) and 58th in the 800-Meter (2:23.61)
  • Freshman Joshua Hunter (Lawrence, Mass.) finished 31st in the 200-Meter (30.47) and registered a 14.44 effort in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Sophomore Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) was 45th in the 1500-Meter (4:37.71) and 57th in the 800-Meter (2:21.18)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Freshman Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) placed 17th in the 5000-Meter with a 20:08.94 time
  • Freshman Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine) finished 18th in the hammer throw (14.12m, program record), 20th in the shot put (5.62m), and 40th in the 200-Meter (36.90)
  • Freshman Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) finished 22nd in the 200-Meter (30.01) and posted a 14.08 time in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Junior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) was 23rd in the 400-Meter (1:12.42) and 41st in the 800-Meter (2:53.70)
  • Junior Krissy Schelling (Pelham, N.H.) placed 25th in the 400-Meter (1:14.25) and 42nd in the 800-Meter (2:55.60)
  • Freshman Valerie Hubbard (Litchfield, N.H.) placed 25th in the 100-Meter hurdles (25.46) and registered a 17.88 effort in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Freshman Nicole Morin (Auburn, Maine) was 28th in the long jump (3.45m) and added a 17.23 time in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Sophomore Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) placed 32nd in the 200-Meter (31.70) and ran a 15.15 time in the 100-Meter prelims
  • Freshman Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) notched a 14.13 effort in the 100-Meter prelims
  • BarrettCurtinHarnden, and Smith ran in the 4x100 meter relay and finished seventh with a 56.26 performance

Saint Joseph's returns to action next Saturday at the Bowdoin College Invitational, which begins at 11:00 AM.
