Men Compete in Maine State Championship at Bates

LEWISTON, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed in the 2017 Maine Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Bates College on Saturday. Junior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) highlighted the event for the Monks by breaking the team's 10000-Meter Run record with a 35:38.67 time.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Sophomore Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) placed seventh in the Hammer Throw (36.51m)
  • Sophomore Harrison DeCotis (North Scituate, R.I.) was ninth in the Discus Throw (29.65m) and 12th in the Hammer Throw (26.57m)
  • Sophomore Kevin Cotter (Sandwich, Mass.) was 11th in the Hammer Throw (29.34m) and 18th in the Shot Put (8.93m)
  • Freshman Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) finished 11th in the 1500-Meter Run (4:36.80)
  • Junior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) finished 11th in the 10000-Meter Run (35:38.67)
  • Freshman Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) was 12th in the 400-Meter Dash (54.91), 14th in the 200-Meter Dash (24.26), and 15th in the Javelin Throw (35.80m)
  • Sophomore Alex Gutierrez (York, Maine) placed 13th in the Hammer Throw (25.51m) and 17th in the Shot Put (9.04m) and Javelin Throw (34.88m) events
  • Freshman Kevin McWilliams (New Milford, Conn.) placed 14th in the 1500-Meter Run (4:47.73)
  • Freshman Ben Plante (Biddeford, Maine) was 15th in the 1500-Meter Run (4:54.04)
  • Freshman David Tuttle (Brunswick, Maine) finished 19th in the Shot Put (7.44m)
  • Sophomore Joshua Hunter (Lawrence, Mass.) placed 25th in the 100-Meter Dash (13.03) and 32nd in the 200-Meter Dash (27.96)
  • McWilliams, Boissonnault, Fisher, and D'Ovidio finished seventh in the 4x400-Meter Relay (4:02.50)

The men's and women's teams will compete in the Pride Invitational at Regis College next Sunday.
