SJC Track Teams Show Well at Regis Pride Classic

WESTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Regis Pride Classic on Sunday and several team records fell in the event.

On the women's side, freshman Breeann Sautter broke her own 400-Meter Dash record with a 1:04.61 time and fifth-place finish while both hurdles records fell, as sophomore Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) topped her previous 400-Meter mark with a 1:15.64 time and third-place performance and freshman Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine) established a new top time (16.64) in the 100-Meter event.

Sophomore Makayla Norcross (Auburn, Maine) once again set a new Triple Jump record after topping the field with a 10.39 meter distance and also raced a leg for the Monks' 4x100-Meter Relay quartet, along with Bisset, Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.), and Barrett, which set a new team record and finished first with a 52.66 time.

On the men's side, junior captain Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) beat his former 5000-Meter Run record after placing seventh with a 16:34.98 effort and freshman Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) neared the Monks' Javelin Throw record (44.45m) with a 42.54m launch and finished fourth in the event.

Saint Joseph's looks to wrap up the 2017 outdoor season this Saturday when the Monks' 4x100-Meter Relay team competes in the NCAA Regional Championship at Williams College on Saturday.
