WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Members of the Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field program competed in the 2019 NCAA DIII New England Regional Championship, hosted by Williams College, last weekend.
On the men's side, senior Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) placed 21st in the hammer throw with a 45.25-meter effort and sophomore Anthony Blatus (Dracut, Mass.) was 11th in the javelin throw with a 51.39-meter performance. The Monks' 4x400 meter relay quartet, featuring Alex Fitzgerald (Lebanon, Maine), Lance Santeusanio (North Berwick, Maine), Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) and Brandon Whitlock (Westbrook, Maine), finished 22nd with a new program record time of 3:37.66.
For the women, Samantha VanDeMoere (Thornton, N.H.), Marissa Hoffman (Waterbury, Vt.), Kaylee Todisco (Wilmington, Mass.), and Meghan Glisson (Merrimack, N.H.) smashed the team's 4x400 meter relay record, and finished 23rd overall, with a 4:22.49 effort, over 11 seconds faster than the Monks' previous high-water mark. Todisco, Hoffman, Cassidy Lee (Sullivan, Maine), and Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) ran the 4x100 meter relay and finished 23rd with a 52.92 time.
