Leverone, Kluna Honored by Conference

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced its weekly honor roll for the fourth reporting period of the spring season and softball standouts Emily Leverone ’12 (Hampton, NH) and Madylan Kluna ’12 (Standish, ME) have been honored.

Leverone hit .600 (9-15) with seven runs, two doubles, a home run and six RBI in a 4-0 conference week for the Monks. She went 4-4 with three runs, three RBI a double and a long ball against Norwich on April 2nd.

Through 22 games, Leverone is hitting .478 (33-69) with 25 runs, nine doubles, two home runs and 28 RBI. She leads the team in batting, slugging (.754) and on-base percentage (.493).

Kluna improved to 6-1 this season after scattering five hits with five K’s and one earned run allowed in six innings against Norwich on April 2nd and picked up her second save of the year with a perfect inning against Johnson & Wales on April 3rd.

In a team-high nine appearances in the circle, Kluna leads the Monks’ staff in ERA (1.56), wins (6), saves (2), innings (45), strikeouts (46), fewest walks (3), and batting average against (.220).

Saint Joseph’s (17-5, 12-0 GNAC) will travel to Gorham this afternoon for a 3:30 PM doubleheader against Southern Maine.
