STANDISH, Maine – Weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College sophomore catcher Chantelle Bouchard (Biddeford, Maine) has earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) Player of the Week honors.
Bouchard hit .444 (12-27) with 10 runs, five doubles, three home runs, and 10 RBI in a 6-2 week for the Monks. The sophomore catcher led St. Joe's to a sweep at Rivier University on Sunday when she went 6-8 with three runs, three doubles, a home run (her GNAC-leading 10th of the season), and four RBI in the two wins combined to help Saint Joseph's earn the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Through 33 games this spring, Bouchard is hitting .393 (42-107) with 28 runs, 13 doubles, 10 home runs, 37 RBI, and three stolen bases. She currently leads the GNAC in doubles, home runs, total bases (85), and slugging percentage (.794). Bouchard also ranks third in the conference in RBI and ninth in hits.
This week's announcement marks the second time this season that Bouchard has earned GNAC and MCBSA accolades.
Saint Joseph's (17-16, 12-4 GNAC) has earned the top seed in the North Division and will host a double-elimination GNAC Tournament pod starting with a 3:30 PM contest versus #5N New England College on Thursday.
