STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's sophomore outfielder Emily Leverone (Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet) has added ECAC DIII New England Second Team honors to her growing list of postseason accolades.
Leverone, a two-time All-GNAC First Team selection, garners the ECAC award for the second straight year after leading the Monks in batting average (.450, 58-129), hits (58), doubles (14), RBI (60), slugging percentage (.775) and on-base percentage (.472) this spring. Her RBI tally broke the program's single-season record and Leverone's offensive output was a major factor in the Monks' program-record 23-game winning streak this season.
In just two seasons, Leverone owns 11 programs records, including the career marks for home runs (16), slugging percentage (.850) and on-base percentage (.535).
The sophomore standout is joined by Taylor Cournoyer and Monica White from Rivier and Clara Conklin (Suffolk) and Christina Naramore (Emerson) as Great Northeast Athletic Conference representatives on the 2010 ECAC All-New England team.
Saint Joseph's posted a 30-10 record, including a 21-3 effort in GNAC play, this spring en route to earning the #2 seed in the conference tournament.
