Moore and Copan Claim Conference Accolades

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and two Saint Joseph's College softball players have earned accolades.

Junior shortstop Lindsay Moore (Barrington, N.H.) has been selected as the GNAC Player of the Week and junior pitcher Rae-Marie Copan (Newton, Mass.) has earned conference Pitcher of the Week honors.

Moore went 3-3 with three runs, a double, a triple, a stolen base and three RBI in a 7-0 triumph over Drew University on Sunday. Through six games, the third-year starter is hitting an even .500 (10-20) with eight runs, a double, two triples, five RBI and four stolen bases.

Copan was perfect through five innings and wound up tossing a one-hitter in a 7-0 win over Drew on Sunday. The crafty junior struck out eight and allowed just one baserunner in the shutout victory. Through two starts this season, Copan has allowed just one unearned run and only four hits with no walks and 15 strikeouts in 14 innings.
