NEW HAVEN, CT - SO Carolyn
Freeman (Scarborough, ME) made 4 three-pointers
and scored 22 points to lead St. Joe's past GNAC opponent Albertus
Magnus College (CT) on Saturday in New Haven, CT. SJC is now 5-1 in
GNAC contests and 12-5 overall this season and the AMC Falcons fall
to 6-8 overall and 0-5 in GNAC play.
The Falcons kept the game close for most of the first half and
trailed St. Joe's by just one point, 28-27, with 6 minutes left
before the break. SJC outscored Albertus Magnus 19-5 in the
remaining minutes of the half to put the game out of reach for the
Falcons as the visitors held a 47-33 advantage going into halftime.
SR Marie Lint (Orono, ME) scored
6 of her 12 points in the game during the St. Joe's offensive
flurry.
Although Albertus Magnus outscored the visitors, 30-29, in the
latter stanza, St. Joe's would lead by as many as twenty points and
would not allow the Falcons to get any closer than 12 points in the
second half.
The St. Joe's shooters made 47% (27-58) of their shots in the game
and 46% (5-11) of their three-point attempts.

(Waldoboro, ME) tallied 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in the
victory and SO Allison Miner
(Pembroke, NH) had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Carolyn
Freeman dished out 5 assists.
FY Casey Drake (Lebanon, NH) came
off the bench and chipped in with 6 points and 3 steals in the SJC
win.
Albertus Magnus was led by Nikki McClease with 19 points and 13
rebounds followed by Krystal Bryant with 16 points and 11
boards.
The St. Joe's women will travel to Newton, MA to take on GNAC rival
Lasell College on Thursday, 1/31 at 6:00 PM.
