Ramsdell & Hurley Collect Weekly Accolades

STANDISH, Maine – Weekly accolades have been announced and a pair of Saint Joseph's College women's basketball players have earned honors.

Sophomore forward Grace Ramsdell (Wells, Maine) has earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week accolades and senior guard Angelica Hurley (Groveland, Mass.) has garnered New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First Team weekly honors.

Ramsdell averaged 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 50.0% (13-26) from the floor and 62.5% (5-8) from beyond the arc in a pair of GNAC victories last week. The sophomore forward tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals in a win over Emmanuel on Wednesday and added 14 points and eight boards in a lopsided victory over Mitchell on Saturday.

Hurley contributed 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in victories over Emmanuel and Mitchell last week. The senior guard scored 16 points with 13 boards in a decisive victory over the Saints on Wednesday and became the 27th member of the Monks' 1000-Point Club with 23 points in a win over the Mariners on Saturday.

Ramsdell, who has now claimed an astounding total of 15 'Rookie of the Week' honors this season, is averaging 14.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while starting all 24 of the Monks' games. The sophomore forward is shooting 48.0% (135-281) from the floor, 34.7% (26-75) from three-point distance, and 67.1% (49-73) from the charity stripe and currently leads the team three-point percentage, in field goals made (135), rebounding, total rebounds (198), and blocked shots (16).

Hurley, who has claimed 35 individual accolades during her college career, is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game and leads the team in scoring average, total points (368), three-pointers made (53), free throws made (67), assists per game, assists (85), steals per game, and steals (41).

Saint Joseph's caps the regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 PM GNAC game at Dean College.
