STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College senior guard Angelica Hurley (Groveland, Mass.) netted the 1,000th point of her college career in a 72-54 victory over Mitchell College on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday, February 10th.

Hurley is the 27th player in the 47-year history of SJC women's basketball to net 1,000 career points and the first to hit the plateau since former teammate Cassandra Stapelfeld '22 reached the mark on January 25th, 2020.

Going into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt, Hurley was 10 points shy of the milestone and surpassed the mark with a layup 1:27 into the second quarter. Sophomore Madison Lebel (Hermon, Maine) was credited with the assist on the historic field goal.

Hurley capped the win over the Mariners with 23 points and on Tuesday scored a game-high 24 points in a 58-49 triumph at Norwich University. Through 85 career games, the senior guard has scored 1,037 points with 662 rebounds, 287 assists, 149 steals, and 41 blocked shots. For her career, she is averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks while shooting 38.4% (333-867) from the floor, 34.0% (147-332) from three-point range, and 78.3% (224-286) from the free throw line.

Hurley is one of just two players in program history to record at least 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, and 250 assists – Carolyn Brooks '88, who tallied 1,630 points, 718 rebounds, and 332 assists over 97 games, is the other.

She currently ranks among the Monks' all-time leaders in FT% (10th), rebounds (12th), rebounds per game (8th), assists (13th), and three-pointers made (147, 7th) and attempted (332, 12th).

Through 24 games this winter, Hurley is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game and leads the team in scoring average, total points (368), three-pointers made (53), free throws made (67), assists per game, assists (85), steals per game, and steals (41).

Saint Joseph's (17-7, 13-0 GNAC) closes out the regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 PM conference contest at Dean College. The Monks will host a 2024 GNAC Tournament Quarterfinal on Tuesday at 5:00 PM, opponent TBD.
