Daigle Collects Pair of Honor Roll Accolades

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's senior forward Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) has garnered honor roll mention from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association for her play during the 10th reporting period of the season.

In a 1-1 week for the Monks, Daigle netted 18 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. She tallied 20 points and 14 caroms against Pine Manor on February 3rd and added 16 points with 11 rebounds in a near-upset of Norwich on February 6th.

Through 22 games, Daigle leads the Monks in scoring (12.4 PPG) and field goal percentage (48.7%, 91-187) and ranks second on the team in rebounding (6.9 RPG).

The MWBCA Weekly Report includes a rundown of the state's individual leaders, and several SJC players are included in the rankings (as of February 7th):

  • Ashley Geel '12 (St. George, ME) continues to lead the state in blocked shots (2.3 BPG) and is ranked 9th in rebounding (7.3 RPG).
  • Casey Drake '11 (Lebanon, NH) is ranked third in assists with 3.7 per contest.
  • Daigle is 7th in both scoring (12.6 PPG) and field goal percentage (49.4%, 87-176) and 11th in rebounding (6.7 RPG).
  • Carolyn Freeman '10 (Scarborough, ME/McAuley) is 4th in 3-point efficiency (41.3%, 31-75) and Megan McDevitt '12 (Cumberland, ME) is 6th with a 39.2% (38-97) rate from long distance.
  • Allie Parent '12 (Camden, ME) is 5th in assists (3.5 APG), 6th in steals (2.2 SPG) and 12th in rebounds (6.7 RPG).

Saint Joseph's (11-11, 5-4 GNAC) will play at Lasell College (7-15, 3-6 GNAC) in a key conference contest on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
