MWBCA Honors McDevitt & Young

STANDISH, ME – SJC Women's Basketball players Megan McDevitt '12 (Cumberland, ME) and Abby Young '14 (North Yarmouth, ME) have been listed on the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Weekly Honor Roll.

McDevitt poured in a game-high 18 points and added five assists and five caroms in a win over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Young tallied 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds with a pair of rejections against Albertus Magnus. The freshman forward has garnered a two MWBCA Rookie of the Week honors and a pair of Maine honor roll mentions this winter.

Through 19 games, McDevitt leads the Royal Blue in three-pointers made (44) and attempted (96) and also paces the team in shooting percentage from downtown (45.8%). She currently ranks second on the squad in scoring (9.5 PPG) and averages 3.4 caroms per contest.

Young is second on the team in both rebounding (5.4 RPG) and blocked shots (22) and ranks third in scoring (9.4 PPG). She registered her first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 10 boards and added five blocked shots in a loss to Emmanuel on Tuesday.

St. Joe's (12-7, 4-2 GNAC) will play at Norwich University on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
