McDevitt Collects All-Tournament Honor

STANDISH, ME – Monks junior guard Megan McDevitt (Cumberland, ME) has garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Tournament honors for her play in a pair of conference tourney tilts last week.

McDevitt, a team tri-captain, averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 boards and 2.5 assists in the pair of tournament contests. She tallied seven points, five assists and two rebounds in the Monks' first-ever GNAC playoff win, a 69-48 triumph over #6 Emerson, on February 22nd and registered 14 points and four caroms in a 71-62 semifinal loss to #2 Suffolk on February 24th.

McDevitt started all 27 games as a junior and averaged 9.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists during the 2010-11 campaign. She paced the Royal Blue in three-pointers made (61) and three-point percentage (42.4%, 61-144) and ranked second on the squad in scoring.

Her three-pointer tally ranks as the second-highest single-season total in program history while her success rate from downtown is the fifth-best all-time at Saint Joseph's. After three seasons, McDevitt ranks 2nd in career three-point success (38.8%, 128-330), 4th in threes made (128) and 7th in three-pointers attempted (330).

The SJC women, 9-3 in conference play, earned the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament and, with a home game in the quarterfinal round versus Emerson, hosted a tourney tilt for the first time in four seasons as a conference member. Saint Joseph's, 18-9 overall this winter, has advanced to the playoffs three times in the last four years.
