GNAC and MWBCA Tab Cahill as Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's freshman Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has been named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period.

Cahill averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest to help the Monks post a pair of non-conference victories last week. The rookie center netted a season-high 21 points while shooting 7-10 from the field with a 7-7 effort from the FT line in a win over Husson University on Thursday and produced her third double-double in five games with 15 points and 10 caroms in a triumph over Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday.

Through five contests, Cahill ranks second in the conference in field goal percentage (59%, 23-39), fourth in rebounding (10.0 RPG) and 14th in scoring (13.4 PPG).

Saint Joseph's will play at Thomas College tonight in a non-conference contest slated to start at 7:30 PM.
