STANDISH, ME - The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) postseason accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has earned Co-Rookie of the Year, Second Team All-State and All-Rookie Team honors.

Cahill, who shares the annual honor with Maine Maritime Academy freshman Mary Badeen (Newport, Maine), led the Monks in scoring (13.3 PPG), rebounding (8.0 RPG), blocked shots (60) and field goals made (146) as a rookie and earned seven MWBCA Rookie of the Week awards during the 2012-13 campaign.

Cahill, the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Year, paced all GNAC players in double-doubles (11) and blocks per game (2.2 BPG), ranked fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (47.4%), and finished the year ranked 10th in the GNAC in rebounding.

As a freshman, Cahill netted more points (359) than all but two first-year players (Kendra Coates and Linda Johnson) in the 36-year history of the program. In fact, no Saint Joseph's player - regardless of class - has netted as many points in a season since Abbie Rice '04 scored 381 in 2003. She is also the first rookie in program history to lead the Monks in both scoring and rebounding as a freshman.

Cahill has claimed an astounding 21 different honors as a freshman with the pair of Rookie of the Year awards headlining the impressive list. In addition to the previously mentioned All-Conference, All-State and All-Rookie honors, she earned seven Rookie of the Week accolades from both the MWBCA and the GNAC, as well as one honor roll listing from both organizations, during the season.
