STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
In the Monks' lone contest over the last several weeks, McNamara netted 22 points with three rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists versus Regis College on Saturday.
Through 11 games for the 8-3 Monks, McNamara is averaging 15.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per contest and leads the team in three-pointers made (30) and attempted (66), three-point field goal percentage (45.5%), assists (36) and steals (20). She currently leads the GNAC in three-point success and ranks second in the conference in three-pointers made.
McNamara was also listed on the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly honor roll for the third time this winter.
Saint Joseph's kicks off GNAC play on Saturday when the Monks host the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College (6-5, 0-1 GNAC) in a 1:00 PM tip-off.
