STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College junior guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) has garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Player of the Week accolades.

McNamara averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a 2-0 week, while shooting 48.4% (15-31 FG, 8-16 3PT, 7-8 FT) overall. The junior guard almost single-handedly lifted her team to a comeback win at Suffolk on Saturday, scoring 31 points (10-19 FG, 7-12 3PT) - including 16 in the fourth quarter - in the 82-79 win, which extended the Monks' winning streak to 16. She also had 14 points and six assists in a 74-53 win over UNE, a 2017 NCAA Tournament team that is currently second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference standings.

For the season, McNamara is averaging 17.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 41.9% (106-253) from the floor, 37.1% (49-132) from beyond the arc, and 87.1% (61-70) from the free throw line. She currently leads the GNAC in three-pointers made and assists (103) and ranks third in points (322), FT%, and assist to turnover ratio (2.0).

McNamara shares the GNAC weekly award with Regis (Mass.) senior forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.), who averaged 21.0 points and 12.3 rebounds while shooting 60% (24-40) from the floor in a 3-0 week for the Pride.

For McNamara, the conference player of the week award is the second of her career. She claimed her first GNAC top player accolade on January 8th. The third-year starter has now earned seven MWBCA Player of the Week honors, including four this season.

Saint Joseph's travels to Lasell College tonight for a 6:00 PM conference contest.
