ON THIS DATE: Monks Win Fourth Straight, Stapelfeld Scores 1,000th Point

On January 25th, 2020 Saint Joseph's College topped Albertus Magnus College, 70-62, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball contest played in New Haven, Connecticut.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Junior guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) paced the Monks with 20 points and seven rebounds and was 7-for-9 from the FT line
  • Sophomore guard Alyson Fillion (Bedford, N.H.) added 13 points and six boards
  • Senior guard Julia Quinn (Fryeburg, Maine) contributed 11 points, four caroms, and two assists and was 3-for-5 from downtown
  • Stapelfeld entered the game five points shy of the 1,000-point plateau and hit the milestone on the button when she netted a pair of free throws at the 2:53 mark of the first quarter
