Monks Compete at Panther Invitational

Plymouth, N.H. – The Saint Joseph's College Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State University. The Monks haven't made their way to PSU since 2020 before the pandemic. For the men, Franklin Pierce took the overall team win with 157.5 points 30 points ahead of runner-ups Plymouth State. The Monks placed fifth overall with 62 points. For the women, SNHU ran away with it scoring 169 points with Suffolk 72.5 points behind with a team score of 96.5. St. Joes Women placed sixth overall with 44 points.

With stellar efforts, a pair of Monks signed their tickets to the New England Championships today. Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) had an outstanding 60 Meter Hurdles performance to place second (0.004 seconds behind first) clocking in at 9.67. Captain, Ryan Farr lead the meet in the 200 Meter Dash with his New England Qualifying time of 23.15. 

 

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) had a day of personal bests starting with a second-place Long Jump effort (4.73m) as well as a second-place 60 Meter Hurdles record clocking under the New England Qualifying time (9.67). Goff also placed fifth in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 28.31
  • Freshman Paige Sawyer (Ellsworth, Maine) placed fourth overall in the 60 Meter Hurdles
  • Junior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) did just about everything from sprints to throws with her fifth-place finish in the 60 Meter Hurdles (10.27 PR), sixth place finish in the Long Jump (4.52m), and 12th place finish in Shot Put (9.06m)
  • Sophomore Lindy Hyndman (Auburn, Maine) had a great showing in the 60 Meter Dash with a new personal best of 8.49 for seventh place  
  • Freshman Paige Sawyer (Ellsworth, Maine) also placed ninth with a personal best in the 60 Meter Hurdles clocking in at 9.92
  • Junior Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) launched the Weight for a throw of 10.02m placing tenth overall and also scored 17th in the Shot Put for 8.55m
  • Senior Kimberly Moulton (Franklin, Mass.) garnered a seventh-place finish in the Weight Throw with a 10.60m mark. Moulton also placed 20th in the Shot Put (8.49m)
  • Brooklyn Goff, Alexia Young, Kate Luiz, Aaliyah WilsonFalcone faced for a second-place finish in the 4x200 Meter relay cracking the two minute mark (1:59.55)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Junior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) cruised in for a 23.15 in the 200 Meter dash coming out on top for first place signing his ticket to the New England Championships. Farr's effort in the 60 Meter Dash garnered a 10th place finish with a mark of 7.37
  • Senior Devin Abbott (Berwick, Maine) took the win in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 9:51.78 and set a new personal best in the mile with a 4:44.66 finish (fifth place) 
  • Freshman Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) sprinted for a 23.32 in the 200 Meter Dash for second place. Abukar also placed fifth in the 60 Meter Dash with a mark of 7.32 
  • Sophomore Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.) placed third overall in his Triple Jump efforts setting a new personal best (12.59m). Ricker also snagged fourth overall in the Long Jump with a 5.97m mark to also set a new personal best
  • Grad Student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) paced it in for a third-place finish in the 3000 Meter run (10:29.02). Hendricks also placed fifth overall with a time of 2:07.98 in the 800 Meter Run. 
  • Sophomore Ryan Graham (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed 8th overall in his 600 Meter Run debut clocking in at 1:31.87
  • Freshman Brayden Grant (Rochester, N.H.) placed 9th in the 600 Meter Dash with a personal best time of 1:41.83
  • Freshman Alexey Seredin (Peaks Island, Maine) made his college debut with a solid 18:12.15 in the 5000 Meter run for 9th place
  • Ethan Tardif, EJ Sungubele, Brayden Grant, and Wesley Hundley placed fifth overall in the 4x200 Meter Relay with a 1:48.38 mark
