STANDISH, Maine – The 2023 College Sports  Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Teams have been released and three Saint Joseph's College female athletes have claimed the high academic honor for the first time.

Junior Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) and sophomores Terry Cassetta (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and Lindy Hyndman (Auburn, Maine) are listed among the hundreds of NCAA DI, DII, and DIII athletes to achieve elite academic status.

To be nominated for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games/events. Student-athletes are not eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.

O'Brien, an Elementary Education major, has been a three-year member of the Monks' indoor and outdoor track & field programs and competes as a thrower and jumper.

Cassetta, a Marine Biology student, has been a contributing member of the SJC cross country and indoor/outdoor track & field programs during both her freshman and sophomore years.

An Exercise Science/Pre-PT major, Hyndman ran indoor/outdoor track as a freshman and cross country and indoor track as a sophomore.
