Women's Track and Field Hosts Pine Tree Classic

STANDISH, MAINE – The Saint Joseph's College Men's and Women's Track teams hosted the Women's Pine Tree Classic and the Men's Maine State Championships. 

Bates ran away with the men's team win, finishing with a team score of 231 over the Bowdoin Polar Bears' 113. Bates' Aidan Rooney was named the Alan Hillman Track Athlete of the Meet and Liam Bryan, also of Bates, was named the Fred Tootell Field Athlete of the Meet. On the ladies' side, Bates came out on top with 156 pts followed by Southern Maine's 128.

FOR THE RECORD:

Four program records fell for the Monks today.

  • Kimberly Moulton in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 37.90m
  • Dylan Dickey in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 58.17m
  • Tyler Ricker in the 400-meter Hurdles with a time of 1:01.85
  • Men's 4x100-meter Relay 44.18

 

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) placed second in the 100-meter Hurdles clocking in at 16.88. Goff also placed fourth in High Jump (1.47m) and eighth in Long Jump (4.68m)
  • Senior Kimberly Moulton (Franklin, Mass.) placed seventh overall with her record-breaking throw of 37.90m in the hammer throw, 21st in the Shot Put (8.52m), and 23rd in Discus (25.55m)
  • Junior Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) placed 11th in the Hammer Throw with a 32.46m, 16th in the Long Jump (4.01m), 17th in the Discus Throw (27.28), and 23rd in the Shot Put (8.39m)
  • Freshman Mackenzie Howard (Kennebunk, Maine) placed eighth in Javelin with a 23.85m. Howard also placed 31st in the Discus Throw (23.40m) and 35th in the Shot Put (6.07m)
  • Freshman Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) placed 11th overall in her college debut in Pole Vault with a mark of 1.90m. Waryas also clocked a season-best in the 100-meter Hurdles clocking in at 18.24
  • Maya Waryas, Kate Luiz, Brooklyn Goff, Alexia Young placed seventh in the 4x100-meter Relay with a time of 53.56

 

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Dylan Dickey (Laconia, N.H.) placed first overall in the Javelin setting another program record with a launch of 58.17m. Dickey also placed third overall in the High Jump (1.80m) and finished 14th in the Discus Throw with his 30.02m mark.
  • Senior Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) placed second in the High Jump with his jump of 1.85m, placed ninth in the Long Jump (5.85m), and 18th in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 25.65m
  • Grad Student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) placed second overall in the 3000-meter Steeplechase clocking in at a season-best of 10:33
  • Freshman Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) was runner-up in the 400-meter dash (50.96), placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 22.92
  • Freshman Alexey Seredin (Peaks Island, Maine) placed seventh in his college debut of the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:10. 
  • Sophomore Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.) placed fifth in the 400-meter Hurdles with a program-best of 1:01.85. Ricker also placed 11th in the Long Jump (5.67m)
  • Noah Batoosingh, Tyler Ricker, John McManus, Nick Carmosino placed third overall in the 4x 400-meter Relay (3:40.46)
  • Ryan Farr, Abdirizak Abukar, Tyler Ricker, Noah Batoosingh sprinted to a fourth-place finish in the 4x100-meter Relay, knocking down another school record with a time of 44.18
