STANDISH, MAINE - Faced with the task of
implementing his own system of play, first year Coach Rupert Lewis
sees progress in his team's play, despite a difficult 2-0 loss to
visiting Husson College.
Husson went up 1-0 at 17:44 as Michelle Barden scored off a pass
from Erin Brown and they held this lead until 52:32 when Erin Nason
added a goal to put the Eagles up 2-0. The game was a defensive
battle with Husson holding an 8-7 advantage in shots while St.
Joe's had a 9-7 lead in corners.
Junior Kristine Benere (Ayer, MA) and first-year
Lauren Snow (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) turned in strong
performances for St. Joe's while sophomore keeper Mandy
Gosselin (Lebanon, ME) had 5 saves.
The Lady Monks have a few days off to recover, but will return to action on Thurs., October 6th for a home game vs. neighbor Southern Maine at 3:30 PM.
